Welcome, you've come to the right place if you love tuna fishing! If you are anything like me, the thought of going fishing and seeing a glimmering tuna bust the surface of the ocean as it fights on the end of your line is enough to get you smiling and excited! My face literally lights up when I think about fishing for tuna off the back of my boat, and this has motivated me time and time again to go tuna fishing off the coast of my hometown. Since the first time I caught a yellowfin tuna as a young boy alongside my brother, I knew that "tuna fishing" would be something I would be hooked on for the rest of my life... and ain't that the truth! Now I'm all grown up (well in years anyhow) and I regularly take my friends fishing for all types of tuna: yellowfin, bigeye, longtail, bluefin. They all love it, because usually they would only catch river fish which arent nearly as beautiful as tuna.

There is absolutely no denying the facts: if you read this amazing book of tuna fishing secrets you will greatly increase your chances of finding & catching tuna.

100% guaranteed tuna fishing tipsBut before I go any further, I want to confess something to you... I haven't always been a maverick at fishing. I used to spend countless hours driving around in a small boat trying to find them, weekend after weekend, without any results. I figured that it must be on account of my vessel, so being the mad keen fisherman that I am, I went out and bought a bigger hull and motor. Before I took delivery of my beautiful new boat, which is called bluefin by the way, I bought a top of the line
overhead tuna fishing reel and rod, dozens of different tuna lures, brand new braided line, fancy tuna hooks, trolling teasers, special leaders and crimps, and much much more...

By the time that my personal tuna fishing boat arrived, I had spent more on new fishing tackle than my previous boat was worth! All for one reason, to catch tuna.

Then after the first voyage fishing in my new boat as I pulled up to the wharf I saw a man drive his boat along side mine just minutes after I had arrived. He was about the same age, I saw that his boat was actually smaller and much older than mine, and I noticed he had a grin from ear to ear. Now I love to chat with fellow anglers at the boat ramp, so I had to enquire how his fishing trip was and why the big smile. My introduction went along the lines of "how was the day and where did you get to?". He replied that it was an average day and explained the place he was fishing. The spot he visited was literally within half a mile of where I was, at around the same time. We swapped stories of how much bait was present in the water and how often we had witnessed tuna and mackerel launching out of the ocean in the feeding frenzy. The guy then asked if I had caught much, to which I replied with the honest response of "not a single fish". Without reacting in any way to my sad answer, he then asked if I could help him with something.

So I made my way to the edge of his boat and stopped dead in my tracks as the guy opened up one of his ice chests and the silvery glint of tuna caught my eye.

Catch not just one tuna, but dozens of them!

He could tell that I would get a kick out of seeing his catch of tuna, because all fisherman like to brag and a story is only worth telling if someone is willing to listen. Oh man, was I willing to listen. I would have just about swapped my new expensive rod and reel just to hear how he caught them. Then I experienced the strangest feeling, I had gone from feeling down in the dumps about my lousy fishing trip to feeling ecstatic about the big catch of tuna in front me... and they weren't even my tuna!

I couldn't hold back, my desire for knowledge was far stronger than my fisherman's ego, so I humbly asked the man how on earth did he manage to catch so many tuna when I was fishing the same area at the same time. We struck up a deal... if I helped him lift and carry the multiple ice chests filled with tuna from his boat to the washing trays and assist with cleaning and gutting the tuna then he would answer all of my questions. I can't think of a single time that I have cleaned fish without complaining about it to myself, but this day I enthusiastically agreed to help gut, scale and wash around 30 tuna that belonged to someone else. I purposely took my time with each fish, taking extra care to clean every inch and remove absolutely all of the insides, so that I could prolong the time I had to learn from the man. After about an hour, we had both finished cleaning the fish but my thirst for knowledge was nowhere near satisfied. I didn't want to sound weird by asking him to my house to continue our chat, so I did the next best thing and invited him fishing in my boat so that he could show me his tuna tricks in person. 3 years later we are now the best of friends and he has taught me so much about tuna fishing that I can go out on any day or night and know exactly where I can find and catch tuna!

Because I wanted to know even more about catching tuna, I would also occasionaly visit the commercial wharves to chat with boat skippers and ask about their catches of yellowfin and bluefin tuna. This then allowed me to become familiar with some of the professional fisherman that live and work in my local area...

I decided to interview some tuna boat skippers so that I could document their techniques of finding tuna and the methods they used to catch them.

It feels really good having that knowledge and confidence with my fishing because it's a hobby that I love so much!
