Using strong and purposeful movements in retrieving line, you will manage to get the yellowfin close to the boat after some time and this is the point where you think that the fish is yours. Think again! 9 times out of 10, the tuna will see the boat then begin his second run and this time it is usually straight down into the deep. Get a good grip on your road and comfortable position on your feet or in the game seat and just maintain pressure on the rod and drag.

This run won't last as long as the first one, but it will feel much more brutal so it's important not to fight it but just wait till the yellowfin has tired again. Once that run has faded, you can put some effort into pulling the tuna back and have your camera and gaff ready as it won't be long until you have caught the yellowfin tuna and landed it on deck. This is the point where adrenaline and endorphins are coursing through your body and you can't stop smiling (or shouting out 'look at that tuna, JUST LOOK AT THE TUNA I CAUGHT!!!').
